Our story

Welcome to our ‘Our Story’ page. The place people come to when they love the sound of a product, but don’t know if they love the company selling it yet.

I promise we don’t take it lightly that you’re here. In fact it means a LOT to us.

You probably want to answer 3 questions:

  1. Who is behind Little Life Stories?
  2. How did you come up with this AMAZING idea?
  3. Can I trust you?

Great! Let us answer.

Little Life Stories is family run business. Real people building something we love.

There’s Harry. He runs the business day to day.

There’s Maddie. She’s currently on “maternity leave” (as much as possible being an entrepreneur) looking after our 9 month old son.

And there’s Vlad, our web developer (basically part of the family at this point). He’s to thank for everything being so easy to use.

So how did we end up here?

We both worked corporate jobs, dreaming of running our own business. Then one day we just decided to go for it. We sold our apartment. Got asked “are you crazy?!?” 1,000 times. And moved to Bali to build Little Life Stories (and surf).

Bali — building the business (and surfing)

Then to top it all off we decided we were ready to have our first baby, so moved back home.

So what about Little Life Stories itself?

I’m not going to spin you a tale about how it came to me in a dream.

Honestly, we just thought it was a great idea. Send parents a weekly question about their children, then turn their memories into a beautiful book. Simple.

A finished memory book in hand

But now that we’re parents ourselves we think it’s even better. It’s such a meaningful way to capture everyday childhood moments that are easy to take for granted, but will one day be the most meaningful to look back on.

So we just got going, figuring it out day by day.

We were meticulous about the books themselves. Colors, cover designs, fonts, paper thickness, printing partners we’d trust with our reputation. The books were made to be as special as the memories they hold.

Technology became a single word. "Easy". Most of our customers are busy moms so we designed a process that fitted into their lives. Not another chore on their to-do list.

Privacy and security was integrated from day one.

The questions themselves took a lot of perfecting and really are the secret sauce.

And then there’s customer service. If you email our customer service you’re talking to Harry. As in the founder of the company. Why? Because we have a very simple belief that underpins what we do.

Our customers mean EVERYTHING to us.

Without you we wouldn’t have a business. So everything we do is for you.

And that’s us. Two first-time parents putting everything we’ve got into making Little Life Stories the best it can be.

And we’d love you to be a part of it!

Oh and before I forget, your third question was can you trust us? I hope by now you feel you can.

And if not? Just drop us an email. We’ll answer any questions you have to make sure we’re the right fit for you.

Maddie & Harry
